The Celestron NexStar 90SLT telescope combines a 90 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain optical tube with a computerized altazimuth mount. It also includes a steel tripod, NexStar+ hand control and two eyepieces for different viewing magnifications.
Celestron NexStar 90SLT telescope optics
The optical system folds the light path through a corrector plate and mirrors. As a result, the telescope has a compact optical tube. In addition, its focal length is 1,250 mm, with an f/14 focal ratio. For example, the supplied 25 mm eyepiece provides 50x magnification, while the 9 mm eyepiece provides approximately 139x.
Also, allow the optical tube time to adjust to the outdoor temperature before observing.

Computerized mount and alignment
The NexStar+ controller also provides a database of 40,000 objects. After alignment, the motorized mount can locate and track selected objects. First, assemble the quick-release mount and tripod. Then follow the supplied instructions for SkyAlign or another supported alignment procedure.

Solar safety
- Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or with an optic (unless you have the proper solar filter). Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result.
- Never use your optic to project an image of the Sun onto any surface. Internal heat build-up can damage the optic and any accessories attached to it.
- Never leave your optic unsupervised. Make sure an adult who is familiar with the correct operating procedures is with your optic at all times, especially when children are present.
